Vintage 30s Milgrim Hat Blue Straw Pink Flowers
From the whimsical milliner that dominated that decade, Sally Milgrim, is the luscious beauty that echoes the previous century - as there was a craze for 1870s style "doll hats" - diminutive toppers often embellished with flowers or feathers. These were perched on the head on an angle above the brow.
This one is in a sea foam straw trimmed in matching satin ribbon around the crown and displaying a large bow flourishing at the rear. Top of the crown is festooned with velvet and silk pink colored flowers. Interior has a petersham, an elastic strap to keep the hat in place on the head, and the Milgrim label.
Condition: good except that some of the flowers need to be steamed open for optimal effect. Their discoloration is intentional, I believe.
