The List of Lists - A Month Later Than Everyone Else
Ok, so I am fashionably late to 2025.
When all your other newsletters were sending you their Best Of / Worst Of yada yadas in honor of the upcoming calendar change, I was either ignoring the pull or vacationing in Costa Rica.
Or both.
Plus, why inundate you with lists just when they are expected?
The lists below are a quick brainstorm as I actually love lists!

THE "GET RID OF IT " LIST !
(Hat tip to Nicole who urged me to share this here)
A fun thing I do is help people organize and downsize their closets.
It's free for good friends. Affordable for just friends (email me) :)
Below is my rubric for easy decision making whether to keep or let go of an item.
I have not read the Marie Kondo book. Any similarities are coincidence or universal wisdom.
Here goes!
Toss if your item fits into two or more of these categories:
1.It no longer fits (those skinny jeans...)
2. It no longer looks good on you (and maybe never did?)
3.You forgot you had it (where did this come from?)
4.Its context is no longer relevant (a fur coat in Florida?)
5.You have no space for it (that bridesmaid dress...)
6.You haven't worn it in two years (for some things there's just never the "right" occasion)
I have almost always lived in small spaces or had to deal with small closets!
Here is my process:
1. I use ONLY ONE of the criteria to disqualify an item. I like to err on the side of goodbye and make room for something new.
2. I then ask myself who I know who might enjoy the item and start a bag for them. When the bag gets full, it's time to find a great reason to get together.
3. No good recipient? It goes into the donate pile. When I have two or more bags of donations, I do a drop off at my local Goodwill (also a great excuse to pop in, no?)
You might ask: if an item fits all six of the "get rid of it" criteria, but I love it and want to keep it because it's a work of art / my grand-mother made it / it's a historic artifact full of "meaning" ?
Great. Half of the stuff in my home is that sort of thing!
In that case, what's it doing in your closet?
Display it on the wall, on a mannequin, or even hang it from the ceiling if the walls are full.
If it's just too physically impractical or beyond repair, document it and put it in the get-rid-of pile. Take a photo of it and make it part of either your digital archive of keepsakes or print out the pic to put in your mementos box or scrapbook.
No need to be crafty or fuss. A shoebox will do. Though I prefer a vintage suitcase !
The decade which sold the most from my shop in 2024: the 1980s!
A list of my favorites
Enid in a silver sequined skirt suit
Lindsey in an 80s jacket with detachable fur cape
Lanise in a graphic print blazer
LJ in a gray wool blazer with heraldic emblem!
NYC customer in a Victor Costa dress
Lindsey in an 80s Calvin Klein linen shorts suit
Lindsey in an 80s White Dress w/Bubble Peplum
Other Noteworthy Moments from 2024
The most important fashion departure that was under reported: Roberto Cavalli (R.I.P. 4/12/24) - known for dressing celebrities in his very luxurious and offbeat gowns
Best practical use of vintage style: Rosamond Pike at the 2024 Golden Globes who wore couture Dior with adramatically veiled hatbecause she recently had a skiing accident smashing her face. She actually healed in time to look flawless, but kept the hat as part of her look anyway! Atta girl.
2024 shop favorites, still available!
Much much more coming in 2025!
More pop-ups across the city
More eccentric newsletters
More items in my inventory (goal is to hover around 400 pieces online!)
