2018 Givenchy Resort Fuchsia Mixed Media Midi Dress Mesh Lace Asymmetric Hem
Dated to 2018, this is a Givenchy Resort collection piece!
A sheer fuchsia mesh layer covers the shoulders and forms cap sleeves and a jewel neckline, with a spaghetti strap slip layered over it at the bodice in solid fuchsia. The V-seam of the mesh shows through beneath the strap layer at the chest. Below the bodice, a diagonal seam shifts into solid fuchsia satin, then into a pleated and lace-paneled skirt. The hem falls asymmetrically, longer on one side, with a thin fabric sash trailing from the hip. Note the combination of lace and ruffled panels. Dramatic slit at right side of skirt. Closes with a hidden side zipper plus a button at the nape in the sheer mesh section.
The Resort 2018 collection was produced under the design team during the transitional period between Riccardo Tisci's departure and Clare Waight Keller's arrival as Creative Director. The collection was presented across three locations in Rome, divided into three color-coded segments: white looks shown at the Museum of Roman Civilization, fuchsia pieces presented in the dark interior of the Palestra del Duce, and electric blue looks tied to the Corviale housing district.
