A wounded bird from the iconic, French fashion house that I know someone can love and perhaps save!
This classic 30s evening coat is in black velvet with a shawl collar, long sleeves that have gathered stitching at the enter, and...a lining in white fur around the torso (the sleeves are lined in silk)! Note the beautiful vertical stitches across the shoulder fronts and at top of the back. There is also an interior pocket in a deep purple velvet at left side that might have been added at a later date?
The label is superbly detailed:
Hiver 1931-32 Jeanne Lanvin Paris 22Frd S'Honore
Fabric: no tag /velvet and white fur (rabbit?)
Size tag: no tag/fits like a medium/see exact measurements below to ensure fit
Condition: the velvet is in very good condition with no stains and tears and so is most of the fur lining except for the areas around the arm holes which are torn as seen in the pic, on both sides, alas! There is also a small hole along the stitching of the collar, at left side. Priced accordingly.
