Yellow glass circlets serve as hand-straps to this rare and exquisite beaded bag in astounding condition for its age, which is estimated to be 1890s - 1930s and serves as an example of kinds of handmade bags that China was exporting to the West at the time.
Sack like body is heavily beaded on both sides in a lattice pattern over a cloth liner. Geometric motifs in blue, red, and white contrast with the warm background. Bottom is beaded fringe. Note the fringed tassels on the sides, offset by yellow glass beads. Interior is one compartment in cream silk and is completely intact and with no stains.
