This is a 1970s St John knit dress in black with a rainbow striped skirt, and it comes with its own cropped bolero jacket. The label is St John by Marie Gray, the early one, and the knit is the springy Santana that stretches, recovers, and never wrinkles.
The dress is sleeveless with a scoop neck, fitted through the body, and falls to a midi length with slit pockets at the hips. The skirt is banded in horizontal stripes of red, blue, green, yellow and white on black. It pulls on overhead and has a lot of give. The bolero is black, cropped to the waist, open at the front, with elbow-length puff sleeves. Both pieces are unlined.
