Classic late 80s/early 90s cocktail dress in black lace throughout the body and long sleeves, featuring floral sprays outlined in fine soutache cord and laid over a net ground, so the flowers sit up off the surface and catch light while the net between them stays sheer.
The neckline is a wide bateau finished in eyelash scallop that sits right at the edge of the shoulder. The sleeves end in the same scalloped border, and the hem repeats it in a deeper openwork band. Straight sheath through the body, lined in black, closing with a zipper at center back.
The label is the white script Calvin Klein, made in U.S.A. of imported fabric, which places it in his own designer line rather than any of the diffusion labels that came later.
