Vintage 30s Pants Top Set Play Suit Playwear Blue Silk, Silver Embroidery
Delightful ensemble in the form of a jacket and pants this was a popular type of garment in the late 30s - playwear! This looks to be handmade.
The jacket has short, puffed sleeves over slightly padded shoulders, a fold down collar, a fitted silhouette, and buttons down the front. It has heavy embroidered trim in silver gray zigzag pattern around the collar, the sleeve, cuffs, the front opening and them of the jacket. Unlined.
The matching sailor style pants are high waisted and wide legged. They button at the sides with matching panels (creating a flatter tummy effect) and the leg hems echo the jacket with silver trim. Also unlined.
No tags (handmade!)
Fabric: looks and feels like silk but might be a high quality rayon or silk blend
Size tag: none / fits like a small as the waist on the pants is tiny at 20" / the jacket is more like a small to medium in today's US sizes.
