Vintage 50s Hope Reed Green Polka Dot Cotton Dress Nelly Don Short Sleeve
This authentic mid-century day dress by Hope Reed features a vibrant green and white polka dot print accented by horizontal striped panels at the waist and hem. The silhouette is a classic 1950s fit-and-flare, w/a nipped-in waist, a pleated full skirt, and button down chest. There is a small, fold down collar and short sleeves to complete the look. Closes with s a side metal zipper. A very playful mix of patterns. Unlined.
Label: Hope Reed Classic (As a sub-brand of the legendary Donnelly Garment Company founded by Nell "Nelly Don" Reed, this piece carries a significant fashion pedigree. The dress is crafted from high-quality Everfast fabric, guaranteed to be colorfast and durable)
Fabric: no tag / feels like a cotton or a cotton and rayon blend
Size tag: / fits like a modern US ladies XS due to the narrow waist / see exact measurements below to ensure fit
Condition: Good and more than wearable but with a few small issues that you have to hunt for. The interior of the collar, a bit above the label shows a small yellow stain. There is also (very) faint discoloration at the underarms. I also spotted a white repair stitch perhaps at the collarbones (see last pic). It is symmetrical on both sides so looks very intentional and blends in with the design quite well. Priced accordingly.
